Two "Toddlers"

Jax has been working on the vertical for awhile now. He is always traveling from room to room walking while hanging onto whatever is within reach to stay balanced. When we go walking he only ever holds my one hand to steady himself and now this last week he has gotten brave and started letting go on his own, trying steps with some great success - still falls but his sprints are getting longer and longer. Here's a video. More later.

Continuing On.

Seems like any post after the last will be anticlimactic but here it goes. We spent a weekend in Montana visiting the pediatrician and doing our monthly grocery run. We had a great time with Nana, Grandpa and A. Corrina. We also got to have a play date with some friends which is always great for me and for Desmond and Jaxter. We played in snow and got to go out and about. Marc spent the time in Cheyenne for the All State conference which is why the boys and I went when we did.

We all got back on a Wednesday and Friday Desmond woke up with his very first case of the pukies. Not fun. Poor guy just laid around. Marc woke up Saturday with the same bug and the two of them spent the whole day miserable. Jax and I avoided the flu bug (praise the Lord) but did battle a rather nasty head cold. The weekend flew by with extra loads of laundry, mopping the floor and disinfecting every surface in our house. By Monday I was wore out! We spent the week catching up (seems like I type that a lot?).

Sick boy.

This last weekend we had quite a bit of excitement. Nana and Grandpa came Saturday morning to say hi and deliver the "overflow" that I couldn't fit in the car from my Montana errands. Then we got to have Gramps and Grandma come Saturday afternoon to stay the night. For a short hour the boys had all 4 grandparents present. =) Both the boys were a bit clingy come Monday morning with so much attention over the weekend but its a small price to pay for some good company! =)

Playing in the tunnel.

This weekend we headed out. Looked for deer, played on the slides and walked in the snow. Desmond is our new self appointed in-house-know-all-rule-enforcer. He is constantly reminding Mom, Dad and Jax about the rules we happen to be breaking. Jaxter is working hard at becoming bipedal. He has taken several steps in a row several times but lacks the motivation to do any more than that - and who can blame him when Desmond is always bringing him his sippy, his toys and Mama just carries him when we're in a hurry. He does do most of his traveling on his feet now, though. Going from room to room using the wall, chairs, Desmond as hand holds. Jax is also working hard on a mouth full of teeth - this last week alone he broke in 3 new ones - the final "front" one and two molars. I am noticing (and rejoicing) in the last couple of weeks that the boys now will play peacefully together (without intervention or redirection) for several minutes before chaos/warfare breaks out. My prayer is that this time span will lengthen and lengthen as they grow older. It is so sweet to see them playing together - and Desmond is the little nurturer as he coaxes Jaxter through many kid activities mimicking me with many of his instructions.

Playing in the snow: a favorite activity.

Des singing in Marc's classroom.
He was imitating Marc and I.... maybe Marc and I aren't that great of singers?
