Redneck Petting Zoo

We have been plagued by illness and very busy the last few weeks. Marc also was out of town with my "upload" computer so its been a while. I don't have time now to give a full report but wanted to share this video with you of our excursion to the 4H Carnival recently which included (as I like to call it) a redneck petting zoo. It was fantastic and the boys LOVED it! The quickly learned to keep their fingers out of mouths reach. Be back soon for more.

Messy Me

I feel blessed to have a Recreation District here in our little town (well, the next town over but very accessible, none-the-less). That is where we participate in what I like to call "Toddler Class". They rotate different classes offering one every other month or so for a month at a time. This may seem like a small offering but in a community where there is *nothing* else, it is a wonderful asset to our routine lives! =)

Priming the "paint brush": our feet!

Showing me his feet, you'll note that Jaxter's feet are still clean.

The end result, Jax never did get into it, his feet stayed clean

Looking at life from a different perspective.

Reading with Dad.

We have been enjoying the spring weather slowly emerging in our neck of the woods. I, personally, have been battling illness for awhile. Nothing serious, just a sniffle here and a cough there, just enough to keep my motivation at bay!

Doing chores with Dad.

We have a Mr. Potato Head who has a mustache. Desmond thought it would be a great idea if we taped the mustache on his lip instead of Mr. Potato Head's. Well, taping plastic to a 3 year old's face is bound to end in frustration and failure SO I decided instead to just give them mustaches with an eyeliner pencil. Of course, if Des has one Jax has to have one, and they loved it. The problem is that now they want one everyday! =)

A new favorite activity: riding Dad doing push-ups.

One of our recent activities: following the river and finding puddles. The snowsuits are not because of cold but to keep the water from completely saturating little boys.

Looking at the other little boys.

Again: we're not in snowsuits because of cold but just because when we find puddles we have a marvelous talent of using them to their fullest potential! =)

Even puddles in our wagon will suffice!

Nice Save.

We were supposed to head to Cousin Jacoby and Morgan's house this last weekend to celebrate birthdays BUT Wyoming closed part of the route there so we instead (since we were already packed and prepped for a weekend away) headed north to Montana instead of south to Colorado. Nice save, Mama. =)

We had a lovely weekend, albeit busy, with Nana and Gpa. We did some necessary (and some unnecessary) shopping, sorting, donating, cleaning and playing. Marc spent the weekend getting caught up at work and staying busy with things he's needed to get done.

Last week we enjoyed a visit from Gma and A. Corrina. The boys had them pulling their "boats" around the "moat" in no time and they giggled pretty much the whole time our visitors were here. We were sad to see them go so soon but very grateful for the fun day.

Today we are battling colds. Runny noses, stuffy heads and less than desirable dispositions. So we all had a dose of tylenol and are now resting on the couch watching Bambi. I see smoothies in our near future as well as some floor play with Mama. I don't, however, see my chores completed in today's forecast. Ah well, such is life, they will still be there tomorrow.

The boys had the chance the last 2 Wednesdays to come to Youth Group with me. Marc was out of town both times and so I took the boys with me to "play with the big kids." This was very exciting for them because they got to see where I go and what I do on Wednesday nights. I was very proud of them, they behaved marvelously despite the late hour and charmed the pants off all the "big kids". =)

My head is a little fuzzy to recall any more details so I'll leave it at that. Hope you are all well and staying away from the Kleenex boxes!

Some cuddle time with Monte.

One of the benefits of shopping at Costco. Usually the day after we bring home the loot we let the boys play with the boxes, packages, etc. This time I opened the TP package and we had some fun with the "snowballs". =)

Tana has come a long way! =)
