Catching up

Before I catch you up on our lives I would like to share with you yet another miracle we've experienced. I went to the eye doctor for a check up and new prescription (you aren't supposed to do this while pregnant or for the first few months after giving birth so it'd been awhile). Anyway.... When the doctor looked at my retinas he found a lesion that he wasn't comfortable with so he sent me to a retinal specialist in Montana. They do this by camera now so that they can show you what they see (cool). The lesion was big - bigger than my optic nerve and well defined. Our prayers began, of course, for healing or a benign report. The lesion was found on a Monday morning. 48 hours later I sat in the specialist's chair and she looked at me and said: "I can't find anything." So...she took a picture so that I could show her. IT WAS GONE. And as I said before it was big. Not only was it gone (in 48 hours) but she said "there is no evidence that it was ever there." My original doctor sent her the picture so that she would know a miracle had happened. She diagnosed it but I don't remember what it was - only that it shouldn't have been able to disappear like that without Divine intervention. Praise the Lord!

And now back to our regular scheduled programing: What a busy week!

We'll go in reverse order and I'll keep it short.

Today was graduation! What fun to watch kids move from their small world in the school hallways to the hither yon - big world with possibilities limited only by their own imagination. The band and choir kids all preformed. The boys and I had to stay home to observe a moment (or two) of silence (read: nap time). We then spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening touring the graduation parties. The boys played their parts well - smiling to charm the masses but appropriately shy enough to stick with mama or dad. With graduation done with it feels like summer vacation should start tomorrow BUT we still have a full week of school before we can start to take part in summer and switch to one-on-one defense (vs a zone approach as I have been doing).

The boys and I just got home on Friday from a week of distant family. My aunt and uncle were visiting my parents so we got to spend some time with them. Before that my grandmother was taking up residence in their rotating guest room. We made cookies with my grandma (read: the boys and I ran around while grandma did the dirty work!). Aunt Eileen and Desmond made fast friends in the back yard with a blue ball. Many excited exclamations from both of them.

Mother's Day was fairly uneventful as we spent it traveling to Montana and doing our monthly stock renewal (ie Costco and Wal-Mart). Marc brought the bounty back while the boys and I stayed in Montana to hang out with family and introduce Jax to the relatives coming across the miles.
